Connecting With Your Baby After Delivery Duration: 56 seconds

The things that might get in the way of your attempt to connect with the baby is trying to cater to visitors that come.

Really visitors should have the expectation that they're going to have to take care of themselves. If they can throw a load of laundry in for you or mow the lawn or take the garbage out, all the better.

Women are not expected to play host to visitors that come to visit the baby. There'll be many. It's certainly advisable, at least, if you're tired and unable to accommodate visitors, that you protect this time and get the rest you need and protect that space with you and your baby, so that you can make that connection. It'll make life so much easier for you down the road.

If you have questions about connecting with your baby, contact your local physician, obstetrician, or midwife for more information.
