Dr. Scott B. Cameron is a highly accomplished physician specializing in Pediatrics and Allergy & Clinical Immunology. With an extensive academic background, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his practice. Dr. Cameron completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Simon Fraser University in 1998. He then pursued a PhD in the Department of Experimental Medicine at the University of British Columbia. Following his doctoral studies, he moved to Winnipeg to obtain his medical degree from the University of Manitoba, graduating in 2007. Dr. Cameron subsequently returned to Vancouver to complete his Pediatric Residency at BC Children's Hospital. To further specialize in his field of interest, Dr. Cameron pursued a sub-specialty Fellowship in Pediatric Allergy & Clinical Immunology at the University of Manitoba, which he completed in 2012. This additional training allows him to provide comprehensive care to children with allergies and immune system disorders. Dr. Cameron's commitment to education is evident in his involvement in academic teaching and research. He delivers immunology lectures at UBC and contributes to the clinical training of pediatric residents and allergy and immunology fellows as a Clinical Instructor in the Division of Allergy and Immunology at BC Children's Hospital. He also serves as the Research Director for the Island Medical Program's Pediatric Residency Training Program, showcasing his dedication to advancing medical knowledge and training future generations of physicians. As an active researcher, Dr. Cameron focuses on oral immunotherapy and has made valuable contributions to the field. He has served as an author for a Canada-wide oral immunotherapy guideline for food allergies, highlighting his expertise in this area. Dr. Cameron's commitment to patient education is also evident in his creation of educational material for his patient families. He has shared videos showcasing real-time management of anaphylaxis with an Epipen in pediatric patients, providing valuable resources to educate and empower families in handling emergencies.
