Dr. Aaron Hoo Bio

Dr. Aaron Hoo is both a medical and naturopathic doctor. His approach to healthcare is to motivate his patients to take action and feel engaged in their health and wellness journey. He has a special interest in addressing chronic illness and pain, and supports all his patients in their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Dr. Hoo earned his medical degree in 2016 at University of Medicine and Health Sciences in the Caribbean. He followed this with a family medicine residence at the University of Manitoba and practiced medicine in rural and remote Manitoba for several years. Prior to medicine, he received an undergraduate degree in Psychology from UBC, and achieved his Naturopathic Doctor diploma from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2001. Dr. Hoo incorporates his naturopathic and conventional medical training in the integrated fashion of functional medicine. While working with the First Nations community in Northern Manitoba, he established a Chronic Pain clinic that incorporated non-pharmaceutical modalities to compliment to his medical practice. He has also served as a medical science liaison for one of North America’s leading nutraceutical organizations, travelling across North America and Southeast Asia to provide educational lectures in clinical nutrition. Dr. Hoo is a strong supporter of Harrison’s Precision Medicine program, believing that personalization and approaching patients in a holistic way, combined with following evidence-based care principles, will result in outstanding health outcomes. In his spare time, Dr. Hoo can be found travelling, spending time with family and friends, playing pickleball, and enjoying the great outdoors.
