Dr Goodchild was born and raised in Victoria and has been practicing full service family medicine in downtown Victoria for over twenty years. He graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Science, and obtained his Medical Degree at University of British Columbia in 1987. He has been the District 1 Delegate on the Board of the Society of General Practitioners of BC since 2000, and has been involved with the Executive of that organization since 2002, first as Treasurer, and later as President. He is currently the Board Chair of the SGP. Dr Goodchild was a member of the General Practice Services Committee (SGP/BCMA Rep) from 2005 to 2007. He has been involved in various Doctors of BC (BCMA) committees and working groups over the past years, and currently represents Urban General Practice on the Doctors of BC Negotiations Forum. Dr Goodchild is passionate about improving the delivery of primary care for patients and the physicians who care for them. He is excited about the opportunity the Division provides to effect positive change, and he is impressed by the enthusiasm he has seen from the many physicians involved in this project, in his role as Co-Chair of the Division.
