Dr. Kurt Whitney Bio

Dr. Kurt Whitney is a Doctor of Chiropractic who was born and raised in Calgary. He grew up playing a large array of sports but in his teens, decided to transition to exclusively playing soccer as this allowed him to play at a more competitive level. He then went on to complete his Bachelor of Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus in Kelowna. After completing his Human Kinetics degree, Dr. Kurt worked for two years as a personal trainer and fitness consultant at The Glencoe Club in Calgary. He then went on to complete his Doctorate in Chiropractic at the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon where he graduated in the fall of 2020 achieving Suma Cum Laude. Dr. Whitney is certified in Active Release Therapy (ART) and Functional Movement System (FMS 1 and 2). He is highly motivated to provide top tier treatments to his patients utilizing current evidence-based methods, with a focus on soft tissue treatment, spinal manipulation and rehabilitative exercises. As a former athlete, Dr. Kurt has dealt with a multitude of injuries and understands the impact that injuries can have, not only on a patient’s physical health but their mental health as well. When not at the clinic Dr. Whitney spends his time with his fiancé, at the gym, playing soccer, or exploring Calgary’s food scene.
