Dr. Zakia Akodadi is a medical professional originally from Morocco who has expanded her expertise to include both Western and Eastern medical approaches. She completed her Doctorate of General Medicine from Hassan II University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2005. Following her graduation, she worked as a doctor and head of a health center in Morocco from 2007 to 2015. During this time, she was involved in medical consultations, epidemiological surveillance of infections and pathological conditions, as well as pregnancy and childbirth monitoring programs. In 2015, Dr. Zakia relocated to Canada and decided to enhance her skills by studying acupuncture and Chinese medicine at MacEwan University in Edmonton. She successfully completed her studies in 2020, further expanding her treatment options for patients. In her practice, she incorporates various modalities, including electro-acupuncture stimulation, dry and wet cupping, Guasha, Tuina massage, ear and Scalp acupuncture, and Moxibustion. Additionally, she performs Hijjama, also known as wet cupping therapy, which involves using vacuum suction to draw blood from a small skin incision for therapeutic purposes. This technique has a long history and is practiced in different parts of the Middle East, China, and Europe. Dr. Zakia's professional interests cover a broad range of ailments, including pain management, mental health, female health issues, digestive problems, injuries, and the side effects of cancer treatment. She also focuses on high blood pressure, Bell's palsy recovery, and other illnesses. By combining her knowledge of Western medicine with the techniques of Chinese medicine and acupuncture, she aims to provide comprehensive and effective treatment options for her patients.
