Dr. Emily Baas Bio

Dr. Baas is currently only accepting new postpartum patients. Dr. Emily Baas graduated with a 3 year degree in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario. With the overall goal of getting accepted into the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) as soon as possible to get her started on her chiropractic career. Following University, she moved to Toronto Ontario where she attended CMCC for 4 more years. During these 4 years she became certified in Cupping and participated in the Level 1 Activator course. After which, she graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2017. Following her graduation, Dr. Baas moved from her hometown of Dorchester, Ontario and began the journey to start her new life in British Columbia. From an early age, Dr. Baas was very active in multiple athletic programs. One being track and Field. Dr. Baas was a competitive high jumper. After acquiring back pain at a early age, some physicians stated that she needed to end her high jumping career in order to manage the pain. It was chiropractic that got her to a healthier state, which aided her in her athletic success in being ranked the 4th top high jumper in all Ontario. From this point on Dr. Baas knew that she was going to become a chiropractor to assist others in their road to recover and over all health and well-being. Dr. Baas was also participated in competitive volleyball, basketball and soccer. Dr. Baas has also experienced the benefits of chiropractic care in the rehabilitation process of an ankle surgery in 2009, after tearing multiple ligaments during a volleyball game – and again years later, when recovering from an ACL surgery in 2016, after getting hit in basketball. Dr. Baas is very enthusiastic about the outdoors, which also helped encourage the move to BC. She regularly participates in SUP boarding, snowboarding, hiking and walking her two dogs in her spare time. Dr. Baas is a registrant of the British Columbia Chiropractic Association and the College of Chiropractic of BC.
