Dr. Bimal Bhindi Bio

Dr. Bimal Bhindi is a urologic oncologist and a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. After obtaining his medical degree at McGill University, he then completed residency training at the University of Toronto and obtained his Royal College Specialist certificate in Urology. During his residency training, he also completed the Royal College Clinical Investigator Program and obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research. Following his residency, he completed urologic oncology fellowship training at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN, USA). He was subsequently recruited in 2018 to the Southern Alberta Institute of Urology and now focuses on all areas of urologic oncology, particularly prostate and kidney cancer.

    Outstanding doctor and care for my TURP procedure. He answered my questions well and quickly responded by return phone call when I had further questions. Surgical results were excellent. His staff were excellent, efficient and friendly. I am really grateful to Dr. Bhindi and his staff for their follow-up when I was supposed to get a follow-up bladder test after 6 months but overlooked getting it done when I was supposed. He followed up why the test had not been done. This was important as the test showed I needed the surgery quickly. He was willing to help me investigate alternatives to TURP. The TURP surgery went very well. Dr. Bhindi was there at 7 am the next day to see how I was doing and give me information about the surgery and follow-up. He is a good communicator, very knowledgeable and great bedside manners. I really appreciate the ability to have telephone consultations.
