Stroke is a very serious brain injury and it is caused when the blood supply is cut off to the brain and brain cells die. Luckily, there are a lot of things you can do to prevent stroke, for example, maintain good blood pressure and cholesterol levels, stay active and fit, maintain a healthy body weight and don't smoke. If you have diabetes make sure your sugars are well controlled and if you have atrial fibrillation make sure you are on proper medications.
