Scott Cuthbert Is A Certified Athletic Therapist, Registered Massage Therapist A Graduate Of The Mcmaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program And A Certified First Responder. Scott Has Been Practicing Athletic Therapy Since 2018 Where He Graduated From York University With A Degree In Kinesiology And A Certificate In Athletic Therapy. Since Then, Scott Has Continued His Education With Completing His Diploma In Massage Therapy At The Ontario College Of Health And Technology In 2020 And Contemporary Medical Acupuncture At Mcmaster In 2021. Scott Has Prior Experience Working In A Post-Secondary Institution Working With High Performance Athletes At Humber College And Working With A Wide Variety Of Sports Including Soccer, Volleyball, Hockey, Baseball, Rugby, Football, Basketball, Swimming, Curling, And More. Scott Is Currently Working With The Swimming And Fencing Teams At The University Of Toronto And Uses His Combined Learned Skills To Create And Carryout A Treatment Catered For Those He Treats.

Symptoms of a hip flexor strain may include pain and tenderness in the front of the hip or upper thigh, pain or difficulty with hip movement or walking, swelling or bruising, and muscle weakness.

Treatment for a hip flexor strain typically involves the RICE method: Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Resting the injured hip and avoiding activities that exacerbate the pain is important for healing. Applying ice packs to the area can help reduce pain and inflammation. Compression with an elastic bandage and elevating the leg when possible can also aid in reducing swelling.

In some cases, physical therapy exercises and stretching may be recommended to improve flexibility, strength, and promote healing. Severe strains may require medical intervention, such as medications or even surgery.
