Dr. Tracey Tien Bio

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area? Dr. Tracey Tien graduated cum laude from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) and was the recipient of the CCR Clinical Radiological Proficiency Award. Dr. Tien is also certified in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University. Prior to CMCC, Dr. Tien received her Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from McMaster University. She is an evidence-based chiropractor, who focuses on providing individualized treatment specific to the client’s needs, lifestyle and goals. Outside of practice, she enjoys working out on her Peloton and spending quality time with her family and dog. What are the top 3 treatments that you specialize in? I am passionate about all things manual therapy and rehabilitation. However, my top 3 treatments include diversified chiropractic technique (spinal and extremity manipulation), myofascial release technique (soft tissue therapy) and medical acupuncture. What are you proud of in your practice? I have participated in outreach events including providing treatment for participants of motionball (a national non-profit organization that empowers young Canadians to be leaders in their communities while raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics). I was also selected as 1 of 12 interns to join an outreach program to the Dominican Republic where most patients have limited access to health care. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the trip was cancelled. I hope in the future I can lend myself again to another outreach program to help underserved communities while promoting chiropractic care globally. Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why? I have a special interest in low back, shoulder-related and ankle-related pain and injuries due to my years of involvement in various sports including basketball, volleyball and softball. My priority is to provide the best possible care including chiropractic treatment, appropriate exercises, health education and advocacy. I have experienced and enjoy treating individuals from all walks of life including children and adolescents, women during pregnancy, those who have sustained acute injuries and those living with chronic pain.

It's great that you're considering chiropractic care for various conditions. Chiropractors can indeed provide treatments to address neuromusculoskeletal issues, including those related to scoliosis, hip and pelvis pain, and shoulder arthritis. However, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, such as a local chiropractor, to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific situation.

For scoliosis, chiropractic care may involve spinal adjustments and exercises aimed at improving posture and reducing spinal curvature. A chiropractor can assess the severity of scoliosis and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.

In the case of hip and pelvis pain, chiropractors can assess the underlying cause of the pain and provide treatments such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other modalities to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Regarding shoulder arthritis, chiropractors may offer non-surgical treatment options to help manage the condition. These options can include rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), chiropractic adjustments to improve range of motion, corticosteroid injections, and heat/cold therapy. However, the specific treatment plan would depend on the individual's condition and should be discussed with a chiropractor.

Remember, while chiropractic care can be beneficial for many individuals, it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional to ensure that the treatments are appropriate for your specific needs. Consulting with a local chiropractor would allow you to discuss your condition in detail and determine the best course of action.
