I went to the ER for stomach pain, Dr.Teertha Bose had literally touched my stomach in three different spots and when I told him all three hurt he said “okay let’s do this again and tell me which ONE hurts because we aren’t going to get anywhere otherwise” so, sleep deprived me, just listened and told him which of the spots hurt the most. Then I waited 8 hours for him, in pain, to tell me what was happening on my ultrasound results. When he finally did, he said I was fine but I had a “tiny cyst on my ovary which shouldn’t be what is causing you pain so it’s just acid reflux”. When I told him the cyst makes sense and is what it hurting me because I have had them many times before they he said “no, you said you weren’t hurting there when I asked you”. (Meanwhile, he literally asked me to choose only one spot because it didn’t make sense for multiple spots to hurt????). Then, he asked me if the medicine he gave worked. He gave me some sort of medicine that helps stop muscle spasms. The entire time I got no pain killer such as Tylenol or even Advil for the pain. I had to take my own pain medication which I had brought because I didn’t get anything for my pain. When I told him it didn’t work he literally said to me “well earlier you were crying of pain and now you seem fine so it must have worked” essentially insinuating “I don’t know what you’re talking about you’re a liar”. I was too tired and astonished by his behaviour at this point to even correct him and tell him I had taken my own medicine for the pain which is why I “looked fine”. Moral of the story: at least pretend to care about your patients and what they are telling you instead of gaslighting them.
