He has had a varied active inpatient and outpatient practice which focuses Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Legal Psychiatry, Pain Medicine, Acquired Brain Injury and Program Development/Administrative Psychiatry. He is the medical director of Grand River Hospital's Specialized Mental Health Program. He has been a consultant to various primary care health teams, as well as to the Kitchener-Waterloo Acquired Brain Injury Program. He has been a respected advisor to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). He is an appointed Psychiatrist Member of the Consent and Capacity Board (CCB) of Ontario. He is a Peer Assessor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). He is an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. He is also a Board Member of the Tri-Hospital Research Ethics Board (THREB). He is a Co-Founder and Vice-Chair of ‘Mental Health Without Borders’, and has led humanitarian aid missions to Guyana (South America).
