Biosimilars are biological products used in the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis. They are biological products produced from pre-existing Biologics. Symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis include joint pain, swelling and stiffness. At first, rheumatoid arthritis usually only attacks a few joints, but over time it affects more. Early treatment is important as it can make the disease more likely to go into remission. Unlike some other types of arthritis, the chronic swelling from RA can cause permanent damage to the joints. Rheumatoid arthritis treatments include disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs), nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), analgesics (painkillers) and biologics (medications produced from living organisms or components of living organisms).

Uric acid is a natural waste product that forms when the body breaks down purines, which are found in certain foods and are also produced by the body. Normally, the kidneys filter out the uric acid, and it is excreted in urine. However, in people with gout, either the body produces excessive uric acid or the kidneys are unable to remove it efficiently, resulting in high levels of uric acid in the blood.

Dr. Dunne provided excellent care for my husbands condition. Unfortunately we had to travel several hours to receive care. Dr. Dunne was always there for him when needed.

Absolutely terrible experience. This individual has very little medical knowledge, and does NOT engage in due diligence. She did not make the referrals she said she would, and I am now in even more excruciating pain. If you value your health, do NOT bother wasting your time with this Rheumatologist

Doesn't know what blood tests mean, omitting important rheumatology related simple tests like calcium and vitamine D, labeling things without scientific basis, being late to appointment, writing out prescription drugs without scientific basis to do so, failing to ask past medical history, being unable to explain a disorder in a few sentences or a paragraph, failing to reply to my inquiry regarding blood test after I saw blood traces found where there should be none. Very unhappy that instead of a logical and scientific person there was one who came up with stuff out of a magic bag of daydream ideas. If you want a dr who knows not much or simply may have a total lack of care (especially about test results), then Dr Shelly Dunne is a doctor for you.

I find Dr. Shelly Dunne to be a very good Rheumatologist in Ottawa who has been helping me with SA for two years. Very informative and gave me a great referral to a nutritionist who has helped me loose weight to help me with my back pain.
