We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

Please remember, this is all my opinion and is based on what I experienced while he was my doctor. Worst doctor I’ve ever met. He left me more traumatized after seeing him than before I ended up under his care. He does not care about you. You will always be at fault in his eyes and if you don’t have a MD he will look down upon you and completely ignore any medical knowledge you may reference (getting simple information any doctor should know completely wrong). He will not do even simple tests (physical tests like blood work, urine analysis, etc) to confirm what you’re telling him is correct and instead is unable to believe anything other than his own opinion. There’s no way to get through to him; in his mind he’s educated and you’re just ignorant. He acts vindictively as if he’s punishing you for having wasted his time. He discriminates against certain illnesses that he seems to think are caused by you being a bad person and thus acts like having them makes you a second class citizen who should feel guilty and ashamed. I cannot imagine how poor a life I would be living right now had I not gotten compassionate care from doctors after him. This man gave me fears I didn’t have before. Everyone I’ve ever talked to says similar things as what I said above. I’ve never once heard anyone say a positive thing about him. Please reconsider seeing him. If you’re looking for a psychiatrist, you clearly need help from someone understanding and compassionate. It’s not like he’s an eye doctor. He deals with very serious and sensitive issues in people who are extremely vulnerable. His actions and words have a much more dire impact due to the field he is in. Please know that if this had not been a pro-foundingly awful experience I would not have taken all this time to type this. I feel I have the duty to warn others.
