Dr. Karim Riskallah Bio

Dr. Karim Riskallah received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 2008 from The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College after first completing his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health in 2004 from The University of Toronto. Having served the downtown Toronto community since graduating, Dr. Riskallah quickly recognized the value of a collaborative care approach in managing patient’s health concerns. Subsequently, in the summer of 2011, Dr. Riskallah initiated to help create downtown Toronto’s most comprehensive and diverse interdisciplinary health clinic, Infinity Health Centre. Since graduating in 2008, Dr. Riskallah has been relentless in continuing to improve his manual orthopedic assessment and treatment approaches to be able to provide his patients with the very best evidence-based treatment and assessment protocols. Correspondingly, Dr. Riskallah has worked tirelessly to become one of only a hand full of providers within downtown Toronto to be certified in both Functional Range Assessment and Functional Range Release; the new gold standards of movement assessment and soft tissue treatment. Additionally, Dr. Riskallah’s dynamic approach to treatment allows him to offer his patients a plethora of treatment options, most notably, Chiropractic manipulation/mobilization, medical acupuncture, exercise rehabilitation, health education, and various soft tissue manual therapies. Having recently had the opportunity to work directly with NHL players from both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies, as well as attending various NHL summer conditioning camps, Dr. Riskallah has gained a higher level of appreciation for treatment programs directed at targeting the entire body to optimize movement patterns, power, and speed in sports. Subsequently, Dr. Riskallah has inspired and created Infinity Health Centre’s Advanced Sports Therapy program to help athletes – at any level/sport – optimize and improve their athletic performance. Being a massive Toronto sports fan, Dr. Riskallah can often be spotted jogging or biking around the downtown core when not at the clinic. In the summertime, he’s a devoted golfer, and during the winter months, he indulges in playing ice hockey. But no matter the season, Dr. Riskallah is a big proponent of community service and volunteer work and enjoys taking part in various programs and events within his Coptic Orthodox Church. Dr. Riskallah can be contacted via e-mail at DrRiskallah@infinityhealthcentre.com for any questions or inquires.

It's great that you're considering chiropractic care for various conditions. Chiropractors can indeed provide treatments to address neuromusculoskeletal issues, including those related to scoliosis, hip and pelvis pain, and shoulder arthritis. However, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, such as a local chiropractor, to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific situation.

For scoliosis, chiropractic care may involve spinal adjustments and exercises aimed at improving posture and reducing spinal curvature. A chiropractor can assess the severity of scoliosis and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.

In the case of hip and pelvis pain, chiropractors can assess the underlying cause of the pain and provide treatments such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other modalities to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Regarding shoulder arthritis, chiropractors may offer non-surgical treatment options to help manage the condition. These options can include rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), chiropractic adjustments to improve range of motion, corticosteroid injections, and heat/cold therapy. However, the specific treatment plan would depend on the individual's condition and should be discussed with a chiropractor.

Remember, while chiropractic care can be beneficial for many individuals, it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional to ensure that the treatments are appropriate for your specific needs. Consulting with a local chiropractor would allow you to discuss your condition in detail and determine the best course of action.
