Dr. Jared Barrieau is a chiropractor who is dedicated to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care to his clients. He obtained his honours bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of Waterloo before completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Dr. Barrieau has also earned additional accreditations in Functional Integrated Acupuncture. Dr. Barrieau is committed to continuously expanding his knowledge and skills. He has taken various courses, including Spinemobility's Boot Camp Program for Lumbar Spinal Stenosis, The Nature of Pain from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Graduate Studies, Concussion: prevention, detection, and management from Laval University, Athletic Movement Assessment for the Upper Extremity, Dermal Traction Method, and Mental Health First Aid. These courses have allowed him to develop expertise in concussion management, jaw pain, and lumbar spinal stenosis. In his practice, Dr. Barrieau offers a range of services tailored to each individual's needs. These may include soft tissue therapy, adjustments/mobilizations, acupuncture, therapeutic exercises, lifestyle advice, and health education. He believes in empowering his patients to improve their health, fitness, and overall well-being. Dr. Barrieau's clinical experience is extensive, having worked with various populations, including high-level youth athletes, refugees, individuals living with HIV/AIDS, adults and teenagers with developmental disabilities, and the First Nations community at Anishnawbe Health Toronto. This diverse background enables him to provide comprehensive care to a wide range of patients. Outside of his practice, Dr. Barrieau stays active and involved in the community. He coaches the Peterborough Junior Rowing team and enjoys activities such as yoga, cycling, and weight training at the gym. His passion for sports and wellness extends beyond his professional work, allowing him to connect with his patients on a deeper level.
