Dr. Erin Kempt-Sutherland Bio
(she/her) Dr. Erin Kempt-Sutherland is a Doctor of Chiropractic and co-owner of Choice Health Centre. Dr. Erin was exposed to chiropractic from a young age. As a competitive gymnast, chiropractic helped Erin overcome various injuries as well as provided her with wellness and performance care to allow her to attain optimal health to perform at her best. From that point on, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in chiropractic, so that she could help others express their greatest health potential. Dr. Erin graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mount Allison University in 2000 and from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 2004. After working in various multi-disciplinary clinics in Ontario and Nova Scotia, she founded Choice Health Centre in 2009. Dr. Erin is a full body and nerve entrapment certified Active Release Techniques (ART)® provider and a certified acupuncturist. Her practice combines traditional chiropractic with newer technologies such as Shockwave Therapy and Laser Therapy. She is certified in Webster Technique, Graston Technique and gentle paediatric techniques. Her approach to care is integrated, working closely with the other team members at Choice. Dr. Erin was honoured to receive the Progress Women of Excellence Award in the category of Health, Sport & Wellness in 2014.In addition to holding local chiropractic and business-related board positions, she represents Nova Scotia on the Canadian Chiropractic Guideline Initiative (CCGI), establishing best practice guidelines for clinicians nationally. Dr. Erin leads an active lifestyle through a balance of running, cycling, skiing, yoga and keeping up with her husband, Michael and their son and daughter.
