It's crucial to continue receiving vaccinations throughout life to protect against infectious diseases that haven't been eradicated and to maintain immunity against those for which immunity wanes over time.

The emergence of antibiotic resistance has indeed made the treatment of certain infections more challenging. Vaccination plays a critical role in preventing infections in the first place, reducing the need for antibiotics and helping to curb the development of antibiotic resistance.

Some vaccines, like the tetanus vaccine, require booster shots because the immunity they provide gradually decreases over time. By staying up to date with such vaccinations, adults can ensure they maintain optimal protection against preventable diseases.

Moreover, adult immunization has broader benefits beyond personal protection. By getting vaccinated, healthy adults contribute to the concept of herd immunity. This means that when a significant portion of the population is immune to a disease, it creates a protective barrier that helps prevent its spread and protects those who are most vulnerable, such as young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

It's important to have open and regular discussions about immunization with primary healthcare providers. They can provide guidance on the appropriate vaccines and schedules based on individual health status, age, occupation, travel plans, and other relevant factors. By staying proactive and getting vaccinated as adults, we can collectively reduce the burden of infectious diseases and help protect ourselves and others.

If there weren’t such a shortage of family doctors in this area I would have switched Dr. Ali long time ago. She rushes each appointment and treats you like a burden. She’s quick to prescribe meds without discussing other options or circumstances, and she cuts you off when speaking. She’s the reason why doctors nowadays have to be trained on social skills and empathy because she has none.

Worst Dr ever. I’d rather wait In a 3hr walk in line up then visit her.. Impossible to get a hold of, is no help while you’re there, and acts like you’re a burden for even going to see her.. can’t even do the simplest things like refer you.

Doctor Ali and her receptionist are all stuck up and rude. Has been since we started going there. But the lack of available family doctors force us to deal with her and her crooked systems. We have since moved away from Toronto and book appointments and travel from the Niagara region to see her when we have no other choice. She gave us an appointment at 10am, knowing that she would not come in until 1130. We did not see her until almost noon. She had let other patients in ahead of us, patients that spoke her vernacular, and avoided us the entire time. Then she tried to embarrass me in the waiting room by telling my parents and I that we had to wait our turn when the gentleman she let through did not even have an appointment. When i confronted the receptionist about the late hour that Dr.Ali was coming in, they told me that she had no intentions of coming in before 11 to 1130 --- SO THEY BOOKED US AN HOUR AND A HALF BEFORE SHE WAS EVEN PLANNING ON GETTING THERE KNOWING FULL WELL WE WERE COMING ALL THE WAY FROM THE NIAGARA REGION. What kind of messed up doctor does that to their patients? My parents are both seniors and may not fight back but I will... you do NOT treat patients that way. They swiped our healthcards at 10am without the doctor even being in the building yet! And today my parents had a follow up appointment and instead of calling me, as I am her patient too, she told my parents to pass along the message that she no longer wants to be my doctor based on our last appointment.. Based on the appointment wherein she was almost 2 hours late to what she and her cohorts had arranged for us in the office. Dr.Ali, I hope you take the time to read this. Just because I caught you in your lies and your gimmicks and you basic disrespectful appointment setting practices, doesnt give you the right to play the victim here. Your patients are the victims. And how dare you ask my parents to pass on the message? You have all my information, call me! Write me a letter! Dont hide behind your unprofessional ways of word of mouth via the patients relatives. Unprofessional. Rude. Disrespectful. Petty.
