Dana Hames is a graduate from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) where she earned her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. During her studies at CMCC, she also completed the Neurofunctional Acupuncture program from McMaster University. Prior to CMCC, she received her Honours Bachelor of Science Degree with Specialization in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario. Dana was born and raised in Burlington, ON. It was in high school following a knee injury that she became interested in the human body, anatomy, biomechanics and rehabilitation. She always dreamed of a profession that would combine her interests with her desire to help others. During her undergraduate studies, she had the opportunity to shadow local chiropractors and knew the chiropractic profession was the perfect fit for her. As an evidence-based chiropractor, Dana uses current research, patient values and clinical experience to thoroughly assess, diagnose and provide individualized treatment plans to her patients. She is a strong believer in exercise as medicine and incorporates rehabilitative and functional exercises into every treatment plan. She also uses various treatment techniques, including chiropractic adjustments, mobilizations, soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, modalities and education. Dana ensures her patients’ have the appropriate knowledge and tools to best manage their pains and better understand their bodies. Together, Dana and her patients form a team in order to create a treatment plan that gets them feeling and functioning at their best. Dana is a fitness fanatic and healthy-living enthusiast. She enjoys resistance training, HIIT, yoga, hiking, rollerblading – anything that gets her body moving! She is currently a trainer at F45 Burlington and genuinely enjoys helping others achieve (and surpass) their fitness goals. In addition to exercise, other pillars of wellness including quality sleep, proper nutrition, mental health and social support are of great importance to Dana. A healthy, balanced and functional lifestyle is different for everyone, and it is one of Dana’s missions to help others find a lifestyle that works best for them!
