We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

I am a professional myself. I moved cities and had to go to a walk-in as a result. I have PTSD and have had it my whole life, and take an antidepressant to combat it. I needed a refill, so I went to see Dr. Brown. This doctor was extremely insensitive, and narrowed in and focused on inappropriate details of my sex, when he didn't push the conversation in any meaningful way that would help the situation. He dominates the conversation and as you are telling your story he will always direct it back to inappropriate sexual details (when the story wasn't sexual whatsoever.) After being asked for the 5th time about inappropriate details of my sexual abuse/sex life, I finally has to say "I'm sorry I don't want to be rude but I really don't see how whether I do anal sex and enjoy it is really relevant to me getting my prescription refill?" Ladies you know how we have that gut feeling about people who are predatory and this guy had my ringers going off severely. Needless to say after I said that (very politely and light heartedly) he immediately turned very aggressive and short and the appointment abruptly ended. I'm pretty sure that this guy was already fired for this behavior and no longer working, but I looked him up and all of his reviews were gone from online so I assume he's stopped working. Either way from what I read there were many comments about how he was responsible for being so insensitive that people's children committed suicide right after seeing him, and stuff like that. If you life your life being so destructive and careless to people's lives when you are supposed to be in a position taking care of them, you make your bed and you have to lie in it. These online comments are the only way for us patients to share our story and not have history re-written just because you have a specific degree and license (which looks like was taken away from you.) It doesn't matter the details of my story. What does matter is that you may look elsewhere before you ever see this doctor, if you even can because like I said I'm pretty sure his license was removed last year.
