It has been almost two years since I went to Huronia Urgent care and saw Dr.Brenda there. She and the rest of the team ignored every symptom that didn’t fit with the assumption that my problem was a sinus infection, despite the how bad the pain in my back and neck was, and they either didn’t notice, or didn’t care that the pain in my back and neck was making it difficult for me to walk. She ignored shaking that she observed in my eyes, and omitted that from the medical notes. Basically, she manipulated the medical notes to fit her assumptions, rather than my actual symptoms. It was the second worse pain I have felt in my life (the worse being a volvulus of the large intestine that caused gangrene and septic shock) and the fatigue the day after the incident was the worst I have felt in my life. Only Antibiotics taken the same night, and for three weeks after, effectively alleviated my symptoms, but they did not completely go away. The day after the incident, I was having very strong palpitations, and since that day I have issues with getting tired doing simple things like carrying laundry or walking up and down my driveway. It’s been almost two years and I still think about all the pain of that day, and feel extremely disturbed and upset about how carelessly my symptoms were dismissed. I don’t know if something serous was happening that day, because the nurse failed to take all my vitals. I suspect there was, given the way it has affected me, since. It’s been almost two years, and I’m still kept up at night thinking about it. I still get pain in my neck and upper back and am still constantly afraid that it will escalate to the level it was on that day. The ‘fulness’ in my face she described was not congestion, it was swelling. I was not having trouble breathing, I did not sound congested when I spoke, and I was having no discharge from the nose. It should have been obvious there was something else going on, but clearly, she didn’t want to acknowledge that. If doctors don’t feel like doing their job properly, they can just write away symptom they don’t want to deal with. It is incompetence, it is negligence, it is criminal. Negligence for five minutes, and patients have to deal with the consequences for years or more. There are signs all over every hospital and clinic saying “zero tolerance for abuse” while I constantly feel unbearably vulnerable to abuse form healthcare workers. I can’t imagine I’m the only one who feels this way. You tell us to wear masks to keep other people safe from Covid, but I feel extremely unsafe in the same healthcare system preaching that safety. You tell us to eat healthy and exercise, but your rampant negligence completely shatters any personal effort to be healthy. You are hypocrites, you are cruel, you are negligent, you are criminal. I can’t go for a walk without having a mini breakdown about the terrible fatigue, the pain in my chest, or my back, or my neck, or my ribs and epigastrium. Feet feel swollen, hands feel swollen, sometimes face still feels swollen, and all I get, over and over again, is careless negligence, and that day almost two years ago was some of the worst of it. Tired just from walking up a flight of stairs, or up and down my driveway. You fake kindness and competence, to hide the cruelty and negligence festering underneath. How can I have optimal health in a “healthcare” system that routinely neglects me into sickness and suffering?
