Dr. Baltej Sekhon Bio

Dr. Navjot Singh Sekhon was always happiest in a gym. His love of exercise, and strong interest in taking care of his body through nutrition, led him on a four-year journey of self-exploration during his undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo. He realized quickly that his extroverted personality and passion for manual medicine would be a perfect fit for a career in chiropractic. Dr. Sekhon graduated with honours from D’Youville College in May 2015, earning a doctorate in chiropractic care. He continues to expand his knowledge of physical fitness and nutrition every day. Dr. Sekhon is a certified mobility specialist and is always on the look -out for continuing education that fits his philosophy of care. When Dr. Sekhon is not in the clinic, you will likely find him pushing weight and exploring his movement at your local fitness center. About Services Contact Blog Book Now About me At a young age I discovered the power of strong chiropractic treatment after required treatment for a surgically repaired elbow. It was only after meeting my chiropractor that I was able to do the things I once took for granted - like putting on my shirt without pain. It was this positive experience that motivated me to pursue my chiropractic education from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. I love being able to help people overcome pain so that they can do the things they love, without fear of injury or discomfort. Great chiropractic care is hands on: If you’re an office worker suffering from nagging upper back pain, neck pain, jaw discomfort or headaches or know you have postural issues to correct, I’m the right match for you. I believe in taking a hands-on approach to treatment. That means, I won’t be hooking you up machines and heat pads during treatment, I’ll be right there treating you with my own hands. Not only do I directly treat your areas of concern but I’m always digging deeper to the root cause and helping you rebuild into a stronger and more resilient being! I combine conventional chiropractic manual therapy with soft tissue massage, cupping, instrument-assisted soft tissue release and spending extra time educating you on your diagnosis. It’s also really important for me to teach you how to take better care of your body - I’ll always be teaching you exercises and stretches that you can do to maintain a pain-free life. On weekends or evenings you may run into me on the hiking trails or at a yoga class - don’t hesitate to stop to say hi! I’d love the opportunity to help you overcome your biggest pain points. It's great that you're considering chiropractic care for various conditions. Chiropractors can indeed provide treatments to address neuromusculoskeletal issues, including those related to scoliosis, hip and pelvis pain, and shoulder arthritis. However, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, such as a local chiropractor, to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific situation.

For scoliosis, chiropractic care may involve spinal adjustments and exercises aimed at improving posture and reducing spinal curvature. A chiropractor can assess the severity of scoliosis and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.

In the case of hip and pelvis pain, chiropractors can assess the underlying cause of the pain and provide treatments such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other modalities to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Regarding shoulder arthritis, chiropractors may offer non-surgical treatment options to help manage the condition. These options can include rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), chiropractic adjustments to improve range of motion, corticosteroid injections, and heat/cold therapy. However, the specific treatment plan would depend on the individual's condition and should be discussed with a chiropractor.

Remember, while chiropractic care can be beneficial for many individuals, it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional to ensure that the treatments are appropriate for your specific needs. Consulting with a local chiropractor would allow you to discuss your condition in detail and determine the best course of action.
