We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

Be wary of this psychiatrist if she evaluates your health for an insurance company. She pretended to be very nice. She showed very empathetic towards me during the interview when she assessed my disability. Afterwards, in her report on me, she wrote quite the opposite, concluding that I was there for the secondary gains. It completely invalidated my physical health problems. It plunged me into financial insecurity, and caused me to experience a relapse of my symptoms. She was very harmful to me. Please if you are in the same situation as me, file a complaint with the college of doctors. Otherwise, it will ruin the lives of how many patients?

She is awfully good at faking being helpful. She only exists to help out insurance companies with zero regard for how it will actually affect your mental health when you get the call saying you are being denied disability to work on your mental health. Lives potentially ruined don’t matter as long as you are getting paid by the insurance companies, right?

She is obviously paid by insurance companies. She does a bad job at pretending to care. Her sole intention is to get you off disability leave. She asks irrelevant questions and hardly spends any time discussing your state of mind. She made a severe misdiagnosis of my state of mind. Beware.
