Dr. Alexandra Bouharevich Bio

Dr. Bouharevich has settled her practice in Aurora. Her clinic, JointCare Chiropractic, Massage and Integrative Medicine is located at Tyler and Temperance, right by Yonge and Wellington. She has fallen for the wonderful sense of community, beautiful landscape and caring attitude of all of Aurora’s members. Dr. Bouharevich is honoured to currently be sharing her office space with the highly trained and well respected Registered Massage Therapist, Kim Snare. She has treated athletes, persons with disabilities, the terminally ill, aging individuals, children, pre-/post-natal women and those looking to optimize their physical health. She specializes in Active Release Technique (ART), cupping massage, light/laser/ultrasound therapy, rehabilitation therapy, and Graston Therapy. As well, to make sure that the doctor’s patients are always comfortable and confident in her treatments, she makes sure to explain everything and provide options for alignment/adjustment. She is very soft with her adjustments as she does not believe in pushing the tissues if they are not ready to receive treatment. Patients can choose to be adjusted, or not, or to receive the use of the Activator Method which is an alternative to manual manipulation of the spine. In the past few years Dr. Bouharevich has also studied Functional Medicine at the Functional Medicine University. She addresses common conditions such as gut issues, fatigue, depression, respiratory issues, weight gain, etc. These issues are often misunderstood and misdiagnosed by conventional practitioners who attempt to cover up the symptoms and not get to the root cause. This part of her practice is ever growing and will soon be available by telephone and Skype to service patients internationally

It's great that you're considering chiropractic care for various conditions. Chiropractors can indeed provide treatments to address neuromusculoskeletal issues, including those related to scoliosis, hip and pelvis pain, and shoulder arthritis. However, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, such as a local chiropractor, to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific situation.

For scoliosis, chiropractic care may involve spinal adjustments and exercises aimed at improving posture and reducing spinal curvature. A chiropractor can assess the severity of scoliosis and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.

In the case of hip and pelvis pain, chiropractors can assess the underlying cause of the pain and provide treatments such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other modalities to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Regarding shoulder arthritis, chiropractors may offer non-surgical treatment options to help manage the condition. These options can include rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), chiropractic adjustments to improve range of motion, corticosteroid injections, and heat/cold therapy. However, the specific treatment plan would depend on the individual's condition and should be discussed with a chiropractor.

Remember, while chiropractic care can be beneficial for many individuals, it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional to ensure that the treatments are appropriate for your specific needs. Consulting with a local chiropractor would allow you to discuss your condition in detail and determine the best course of action.
