Dr. Ahmed Ballo is an accomplished dentist and specialist in Prosthodontics, with a wealth of international experience. Born in Parma, Italy, he has dedicated the last fifteen years to studying, working, and traveling across continents.
Dr. Ballo is a Board Certified Specialist in Prosthodontics and currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He completed his specialist training, earning an MSc and Diploma in Prosthodontics, at UBC in Vancouver. His surgical training in prosthodontics distinguishes him as a highly skilled and knowledgeable practitioner.
His journey in dentistry began with the completion of his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in 2002, followed by an internship at Garyounis University. After establishing a successful private practice, he pursued further postgraduate education in Finland, where he obtained a PhD degree and clinical training in implantology as a scholar of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) at the University of Turku in 2008. He continued his academic pursuits as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden from 2008 to 2012.
In 2012, Dr. Ballo relocated to Vancouver and joined the UBC Faculty of Dentistry as a Clinical Assistant Professor. His exceptional dedication to teaching and contributions to the education of undergraduate dental students at UBC have been recognized with three consecutive teaching awards for the academic years 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Dr. Ballo holds memberships in prestigious professional organizations such as the International Team for Implantology (ITI), the Canadian Dental Association, the British Columbia Society of Prosthodontics, the British Columbia Dental Association, and the American College of Prosthodontists. He also serves as the director of the Vancouver Digital ITI Study Club.
Renowned as a clinician and lecturer, Dr. Ballo's primary areas of focus within clinical practice, teaching, and research are esthetic and implant dentistry, as well as the integration of cutting-edge digital technologies in complex oral rehabilitation involving implants.

Dr. Ballo has also authored a textbook on implant dentistry and related research. Wah Leung Award, and the European Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Doctoral Award (EDA).
