Video Title: Recognizing ACL Injuries in Soccer Duration: 38 seconds

During the first 48 to 72 hours following an ACL injury or if you think you have an ACL injury, it’s really important to follow the RICE protocol.

So first, giving yourself rest, taking weight off that knee. Icing 15 to 20 minutes at the site of the knee joint. Compression, so maybe wrapping it with a tensor bandage lightly to prevent additional swelling from occurring. And elevation, so having it elevated to body height or above to minimize the swelling as well.

It’s important to see your doctor potentially as well as a physiotherapist.
