Ms. Tara Azimi Bio

Tara Azimi is a compassionate and dedicated Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a strong background in mental health services. She is also a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and is currently pursuing her PhD in counselling psychology. Tara has experience working with adults, couples, and older adolescents from diverse backgrounds, providing mental health support in both British Columbia and Alberta. In her practice, Tara values meeting her clients at their own pace and works from a client-centered, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed approach. She utilizes various therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Adlerian therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, tailoring her approach to the unique needs of each client. Tara believes in creating a warm, relaxed, non-judgmental, and confidential space during counselling sessions to foster trust and openness. Tara has worked with individuals and couples dealing with a range of issues, including depression, stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, immigration and integration challenges, work-life balance, grief, relationship deterioration, decision-making, academic or career distress, as well as clients with ADHD and neurodivergence. She takes a collaborative and strength-based approach, helping her clients move forward, gain new perspectives, find solutions, and achieve inner peace. Tara provides her clients with tools, coping strategies, and exercises outside of sessions to support their healing journey and equip them with long-term strategies for various situations. As a lifelong learner, Tara actively engages in professional development, attends trainings, participates in research projects, and seeks out learning opportunities. Outside of her work as a therapist, she enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her family, and being outdoors. Overall, Tara Azimi brings her expertise, compassion, and commitment to personal growth to her counselling practice, providing a supportive and empowering environment for clients to navigate their challenges, gain resilience, and find inner peace.
