Meghan Burek Bio
Hello! My name is Meghan Burek and I have been a Registered Dietitian for 10 years providing both individual and group-related nutrition services. I completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph, followed by a Masters of Science in Exercise and Nutrition at the University of Chester in England, with a special focus on sports nutrition. As a Dietitian who practices with an anti-diet approach to health and wellness, I aim to help improve one’s relationship with food and their body, especially at a time when the influences of diet culture and nutrition misinformation are especially prevalent.
I believe strongly in the value of nutrition promotion and providing the general public with the knowledge, tools and motivation necessary to make informed and healthier lifestyle choices within the grocery store and at home (but never compromising the foods that you love)! As a certified Craving Change® Practitioner, I can also work with clients to help guide them through understanding the “why” of our eating patterns and how the environment around us, as well as our learned behaviours play a huge role in our food choices!
I can provide personalized nutrition guidance for a number of nutrition concerns whether related to chronic disease or other health condition management, general healthy eating, non-judgemental weight management or any other unique needs! Together we can create a nutrition plan that is both sustainable, realistic and helps to reach your health and wellness goals! Outside of one on one individual nutrition counselling, I also provide group services (currently webinar based), as well as presentations and lunch & learns in the community and workplaces. Feel free to call or email me to book in for a free 15 minute discovery call to learn more about my services and approach to see if it aligns well with your own interests and goals! I look forward to chatting more about YOU!
