Location: Keele & Steeles - York U: Track Centre , Keele & Steeles -York U: Accolade E Biography Madeline Aarts began her journey in physiotherapy through an undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph in Biomedical Science, where she competed on the varsity Cross Country Skiing team. She completed additional workshops in leadership, became involved in research, and worked as a student-athlete mentor and a physiotherapy assistant. Madeline then completed her Masters in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. She has a deep love for learning, and has interests in orthopaedics, paediatrics, and women's health. She has completed her Orthopedic Division Level 1 Certification in Manual Therapy and a course in Movement Analysis Practice focusing on postural alignment. Madeline has taken her Level 1 course in Pelvic Floor Therapy, which is centered around helping those with urinary incontinence. She has applied this foundational knowledge to help others in the area of pelvic physiotherapy including hip and low back pain, constipation, prolapse, and other voiding dysfunctions. She is planning on continuing her education throughout the upcoming year, including her Level 2 certification focusing on pelvic pain, as well as a course specific to pelvic health in dancers. Her passion for learning and helping others allows her to create valuable relationships with her patients; helping them regain control of their condition and reach their goals! At Athlete's Care, Madeline is looking forward to applying the most up to date and evidence-based treatment strategies to help clients reach their rehab goal. Using a combination of education, hands on and exercise based approaches, Madeline will help create an individualized and effective treatment program to address clients needs and set them up for success going forward. In her free time, Madeline enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active through various sports, and playing with her dog.
