Karen Tattersall Bio

Karen Tattersall, BSc, RHN graduated top of her class at CSNN and is eager to work with people one on one, in workshops and online. As a former national level competitive swimmer, Karen was always curious about how nutrition could be used to benefit her performance and improve her health. Her dream today is that one day we will have a totally transparent amalgamation of mainstream and alternative health care providers, so that we can work together to establishing optimal and holistic health. Not sure if you’ve ever suffered from mood swings, inability to focus or digestive upset, but I have. I tried EVERYTHING!!! Everyone told me something different, doctors, specialists, friends and the lovely internet. I tried it all … for so long!!! I remember going through my Bachelors of Biology thinking I CANNOT do this; I’m tired all the time, it takes me FOREVER to remember my material … THIS SUCKS! Well I started noticing that what, when and how I ate really affecting how I felt that day, and also the following day. Have you felt … – tired? – moody? – inability to focus? – stomach upset? Well Food could be not only the cause, but it could be the solution! Come with me on the journey of how food can help you create a better life! Learn how what, when & why you eat can lead you towards a more satisfying life. Even learn how to eat to get the maximum benefits, so that you can live your best life! Through meal planning you can get yourself back on track to a healthy lifestyle. If you think you can do it yourself, let me know tell you … it just ain’t that easy! I feel I had a more than healthy lifestyle and it was so hard for me. Having a meal plan organized for you from what you’re eating on each day to the grocery list makes it fool proof!! MY goal is to “break it down and make it simple” so that YOU understand how your nutritional choices can be affecting you.

Ginger is classified as a herbaceous perennial, meaning it has a non-woody stem that dies back at the end of the growing season but can regrow from the same root system year after year. The plant typically grows pseudostems, which are false stems made up of tightly packed rolled bases of leaves. These pseudostems can reach a height of around one meter (or approximately three feet).

The flowers of ginger emerge from the rhizome on separate shoots and are arranged in inflorescences. They typically have pale yellow petals with purple edges, adding a touch of color to the plant. However, it's worth noting that ginger is primarily cultivated for its underground rhizome rather than its flowers.

Due to its distinct flavor and aroma, ginger is a popular ingredient in many culinary dishes, including soups, stir-fries, curries, and baked goods. It is also commonly used in beverages like ginger tea and ginger ale. In addition to its culinary uses, ginger has been traditionally used to aid digestion, reduce inflammation, alleviate nausea, and promote overall well-being.
