Your eyes have clear liquid that flows in and out, but if you have glaucoma, this liquid doesn’t drain properly, causing this buildup of IOP pressure. Glaucoma is a disease of the optic nerve, which is made up of nerve fibers and transmits images from the eye to your brain. If you have a condition known as ocular hypertension, which is a result of high ocular pressure, your risk of developing glaucoma increases.Your optometrist or ophthalmologist may want to lower your IOP as a preventative measure.

Our eye works a lot like a camera. In order for us to see clearly, the Cornea has light has to be focused by a lens. We are all born with a lens inside our eye that does this job for us and in early life it is crystal clear. As we age, this lens can become cloudy and begin to block light or create blur. We call this change in the lens a “cataract”.

Fortunately, cataracts are treatable through surgery. During cataract surgery, the clouded lens is removed and replaced with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). This procedure is highly successful in restoring clear vision for most people, allowing them to see more clearly and improve their quality of life.

This is to warn any potential patients about Dr. S. Arshinoff. I MADE A GRAVE AND COSTLY MISTAKE OF TRUSTING THIS DOCTOR WITH MY CATARACT SURGERY. During my first visit, I requested to be implanted with a Toric lens because this is the only lens to correct astigmatism (I already have a Toric lens in my other eye replaced by a different eye specialist). Dr. Arshinoff assured me that he will select the best lens to give me 20/20 vision with glasses needed for reading only. Instead, Dr. Arshinoff implanted me with a wrong type of lens. He deliberately disregarded my astigmatism and he failed to implant me with a Toric lens. Also, during the surgery, this "so called eye specialist" had a very hard time with his surgical performance causing me additional undue stress. Following the surgery, it was evident that MY VISION DID NOT GET CORRECTED (instead of promised 20/20 vision) because I was implanted with the wrong type of lens. Presently, to correct my vision (which was paid for and supposed to be done by Dr. Arshinoff), a laser procedure at another clinic will cost me the additional $ 2700. Dr. Arshinoff lied to me before and after the surgery, to cover his unacceptable unethical practices. Dr. Arshinoff is a cynical, deceitful and incompetent doctor and as such he should not be allowed to practice medicine and to deliberately cause harm to unsuspecting patients!
