Dr. Spencer Bell Bio

Dr. Bell graduated with honours from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he was awarded 13 scholarships including the prestigious FICS International Student Scholarship for his contributions to the betterment of sports chiropractic. He is the recipient of an international award for his student-led research initiative in clinical biomechanics, and was awarded an Academic Achievement Award by the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (RCCSS) for his research project investigating the effects of chiropractic manipulation in elite sprinters. Dr. Bell has an undergraduate degree in Biomechanical Engineering from the University of Guelph, where he graduated with honours with a particular interest in new-age prosthetic designs. Dr. Bell went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto, where his thesis examined regenerative medicine and the design of bio-implantable devices, which highlighted the remarkable healing capacity of the human body. A former varsity volleyball player, Dr. Bell has a keen interest in athletics and has worked extensively as a coach and mentor in grassroots athletic initiatives. Most notably, Dr. Bell was part of the medical teams for the FIFA Women's World Cup (2015) and Jr. Women's World Cup (2014), the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships and the Pan-Am Games (2015). He has worked at the Canadian Track and Field Championships, the Canadian Mountain Bike Championships, the Pan-Am Fencing Championships, among many others. He is currently the co-chair of Sports Medicine for the Lakehead University (Orillia) Varsity Sports program. Dr. Bell has helped coordinate several commercial partnership programs, including a year-long injury prevention program with Hydro One. Currently, Dr. Bell is pursuing a fellowship in sports chiropractic, while maintaining his clinical practice.
