It's crucial to continue receiving vaccinations throughout life to protect against infectious diseases that haven't been eradicated and to maintain immunity against those for which immunity wanes over time.

The emergence of antibiotic resistance has indeed made the treatment of certain infections more challenging. Vaccination plays a critical role in preventing infections in the first place, reducing the need for antibiotics and helping to curb the development of antibiotic resistance.

Some vaccines, like the tetanus vaccine, require booster shots because the immunity they provide gradually decreases over time. By staying up to date with such vaccinations, adults can ensure they maintain optimal protection against preventable diseases.

Moreover, adult immunization has broader benefits beyond personal protection. By getting vaccinated, healthy adults contribute to the concept of herd immunity. This means that when a significant portion of the population is immune to a disease, it creates a protective barrier that helps prevent its spread and protects those who are most vulnerable, such as young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

It's important to have open and regular discussions about immunization with primary healthcare providers. They can provide guidance on the appropriate vaccines and schedules based on individual health status, age, occupation, travel plans, and other relevant factors. By staying proactive and getting vaccinated as adults, we can collectively reduce the burden of infectious diseases and help protect ourselves and others.

Dr Hamersley was my contact through gov.bc site for covid treatment. The prescription he sent to my pharmacy was mistaken. He reported that my condition was renal when in fact it has been hepatic for past 7 years. His response to misreading my renal function on Gateway site was “sorry..must have pushed the wrong button. Thank goodness for me seeing “renal dose” on package and my pharmacist for phoning Dr Hamersley and the changing the dose age to appropriate amount!!!

He is the worst Dr I ever dealt with amongst Covid everyone scared and stressed, when I went in to ER for a follow up and concern post covid, I got yelled and screamed at, for asking questions he seemingly did not like. Total unprofessional behaviour, storming out the room, sending your rx with someone else and not even coming back to say why antibiotics or action plan. No one has ever yelled and been so nasty to me in my life. A hospital where you go for help and get treated so badly. He is a horrible man with serious problems should not be in ER
