Dr. Ray McClanahan is a podiatrist based in Portland, Oregon, known for his emphasis on natural foot health and his invention of Correct Toes, silicone toe spacers. He was born in Port Angeles, Washington, to Larry and Judi McClanahan. After completing his undergraduate studies at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, Dr. McClanahan attended the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine (now Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine). He graduated from podiatry school in 1995. Following his graduation, Dr. McClanahan pursued a two-year podiatric surgical residency training at Legacy Health Systems and Kaiser Permanente in Portland, Oregon. This training allowed him to become a Podiatric Physician and Surgeon. Dr. McClanahan's practice, Northwest Foot & Ankle in Portland, Oregon, focuses on providing natural foot health services, with an emphasis on sports medicine, preventive and conservative options, and education on proper footwear. He believes that most foot problems can be resolved by restoring natural foot function. Apart from his professional achievements, Dr. McClanahan is an avid runner and athlete. In 1999, he placed 14th in the U.S. National Men's Cross-Country Championships. Additionally, he achieved a remarkable 5,000-meter time of 13:56 in 2000, which was close to qualifying for the Olympic Trials. In 2001, he qualified for the World Duathlon Championships. Overall, Dr. Ray McClanahan is dedicated to promoting natural foot health, helping individuals overcome foot problems, and educating others about the importance of proper foot care and footwear choices.
