We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

Best psychiatrist ever!! Dr. Omoseni helped my brother in Windsor in 2014 after a near fatal overdose of anti-psychotic medications. My brother emerged from the hospital so mentally well, I thought the coma had healed his Schizophrenia. Since his diagnosis in 1994, he had been constantly on very high doses of multiple medications but never well, until Dr. Omoseni. When my brother returned to Ottawa after his discharge from the hospital in Windsor, his Royal Ottawa Hospital (ROH) psychiatrist took him off the one medication Dr. Omoseni had prescribed. Things went back to the way they had been - very high doses of multiple drugs and my brother in and out of hospital for months at a time. My family has been begging my brother's ROH psychiatrist to put him back on the one drug Dr. Omoseni had him on. Finally in March 2025, he agreed. My brother is a mess mentally and physically from the high doses of multiple drugs the ROH doctor had him. I had to speak to the administration at the ROH to get 2 unnecessary 40-year prescriptions stopped and I made my brother decline an unnecessary 75 mg twice weekly Risperdal injection. Oh and I left my job to manage this. I had to do all that before his ROH psychiatrist agreed to put my brother back on the medication (one drug, not six anti-psychotics) that Dr. Omoseni had prescribed. I wish all doctors had the same work ethics and priorities as Dr Omoseni. Is it money that drives the high doses of multiple drugs that some doctors prescribe? I'm glad that doctors like Dr. Omoseni exist. I wish he practiced in Ottawa.

Omoseni still seems to prescribe to old school psychiatry, and I am surprised he doesn't do lobotomies with icepicks still. The chemical concoctions are often just a chemical lobotomy. The real solution often lays with endocrine hormones. New findings from Jory Goodman in the US shows that testosterone and estrogen are cause of many mental illness cases. If doctors were more updated on new information, many peoples' lives would be saved from often inaccurate diagnoses from stone-age shrinks.
