Dr. Tallon’s special interest includes egg freezing and the impact of aging on fertility treatment. She has co-authored a guideline for fertility preservation in reproductively aged women. Dr. Niamh Tallon is an infertility and egg freezing specialist. She grew up in Singapore and Dublin, Ireland. After completing her honours science degree in microbiology from Trinity College Dublin, Dr. Tallon went on to do her medical training at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. While getting her medical degree, she met her Canadian husband and consequently moved to Canada upon graduation. Dr. Tallon did her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Saskatchewan. She then came to Vancouver to pursue a fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (GREI) at the University of British Columbia. In addition to treating infertility in private practice, Dr. Tallon is a Clinical Associate Professor at UBC and actively involved in resident and medical student teaching. She works as part of a team of healthcare providers at the women’s reproductive health program (BCWH) who deal with early pregnancy complications. She knows how time-consuming and stressful fertility treatment can be and, as such, she is dedicated to ensuring every patient gets the individualized treatment, care, and support they need to help them through their fertility journey. Dr.Tallon lives in Vancouver with her husband and two children. Her own fertility challenges have given her a special empathy and understanding of what her patients are going through. Both she and her husband love to cook and to eat good food. Having great restaurants is one of the excellent perks of moving to Vancouver!
