Dr. Mike Wilkinson is a Sports Medicine Physican who practices sports and exercise medicine at the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Centre at UBC, where he is also an Assistant Clinical professor. He recently served as the Director, Medical Services at VANOC and is the CMO and team physician for the Canadian Rowing team, physician for the Vancouver Canucks, and for the Canadian Senior Rugby Team (since 1997). Dr. Wilkinson is a member of the Board of Directors for Own the Podium (OTP) and the Sports Medicine Council of BC (SMCBC), and a member of the International Rowing Federation (FISA) Sports Medicine Commission. He is an expert advisor to the SOCHI 2014 organizing committee and the IOC medical commission and a member of the CASEM team physicians committee, the National Sports Medicine and Science Advisory Committee (NSSMAC), and the BC and Canadian Rugby Sport Medicine & Science Advisory Committee. Dr. Wilkinson is also a past Medical Director for the Vancouver International Marathon.

Usually, your Sports Medicine Physician will start you off with exercises to improve your range of motion and strengthen your ankle.
