Dr. Mahfam Amini-Nouri Bio

Dr. Mahfam Amini graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from York University in 2003. She then went on to begin her chiropractic education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2007. After graduating, Dr. Amini practiced in Burlington and Waterloo. Dr. Amini set up her private practice in Milton, Ontario in 2013. Dr. Amini uses a variety of chiropractic techniques which include Thompson and Activator. A thorough chiropractic examination will determine which technique is best for you. Dr. Amini is a member of both the Canadian and Ontario Chiropractic Associations and Acupuncture Council of Ontario. She is also a member of Waterloo Region Chiropractic Society. She is certified through Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College to perform Acupuncture and certified to perform Activator Technique for all ages.   Dr. Amini is passionate about improving the health of families in her community including children and pregnant women. She is committed to not just eliminating pain, but also helping her patients restore their health and function to live life to their fullest potential.   Dr. Amini strives for “quality” chiropractic care through patient education, clinical assessment and gentle chiropractic treatments. Dr. Amini takes her time during the initial consultation visit because she believes that this visit is her window of opportunity to pinpoint the root cause of the problem/condition her patient is presenting with. After conducting a thorough history and examination, Dr. Amini reviews all the findings with her patient (report of findings) and will communicate the concluded diagnosis and treatment plan. In some cases, Dr. Amini chooses not to do an adjustment on the very first visit and instead refer out for xrays or other investigations.  When it comes to the treatments, Dr. Amini takes a holistic and evidence-based approach towards treating injuries. Her treatment may include adjustments, clinical acupuncture and/or cold laser modalities. She may recommend a series of adjustments or may choose a combination of adjustments and other modalities. Dr. Amini recommends the kind of treatment(s) that is best for her patient.   She always takes her time during each visit (30 min) and focuses on balancing and restoring the proper alignment of the spine through low force adjustments. She also incorporates soft tissue techniques, heating pad, Thumper and other manual techniques. Postural education, home care (ice, stretches), ergonomic information are reviewed during the report of finding visit. Strengthening exercises and orthotics may be recommended during the course of treatment when indicated.

It's great that you're considering chiropractic care for various conditions. Chiropractors can indeed provide treatments to address neuromusculoskeletal issues, including those related to scoliosis, hip and pelvis pain, and shoulder arthritis. However, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, such as a local chiropractor, to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific situation.

For scoliosis, chiropractic care may involve spinal adjustments and exercises aimed at improving posture and reducing spinal curvature. A chiropractor can assess the severity of scoliosis and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.

In the case of hip and pelvis pain, chiropractors can assess the underlying cause of the pain and provide treatments such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other modalities to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Regarding shoulder arthritis, chiropractors may offer non-surgical treatment options to help manage the condition. These options can include rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), chiropractic adjustments to improve range of motion, corticosteroid injections, and heat/cold therapy. However, the specific treatment plan would depend on the individual's condition and should be discussed with a chiropractor.

Remember, while chiropractic care can be beneficial for many individuals, it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional to ensure that the treatments are appropriate for your specific needs. Consulting with a local chiropractor would allow you to discuss your condition in detail and determine the best course of action.
