Treatment varies depending on the type of skin disorder you have.

  • Diagnosis: The diagnosis of granuloma annulare is usually confirmed through a skin biopsy. This is essential because there are other skin conditions and infections that can mimic its appearance, and a biopsy helps distinguish it from other possibilities.

  • Course and Treatment: The condition often resolves on its own within a few years, disappearing as mysteriously as it appeared. Treatment may involve topical corticosteroids initially, but these might not always yield satisfactory results. Corticosteroids can also be injected into the lesions, which might be more effective but can be more uncomfortable. Some individuals choose not to treat it, especially if the condition is limited. Phototherapy and stronger immunosuppressant medications can be options for those with widespread disease, but these decisions require a discussion of risks and benefits with a physician.

It's important to note that the condition is associated with some uncertainties and variations in its course, with most cases being self-limited. Consulting with a medical professional for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment options is recommended in regards to Laser Medicine and Surgery

Dr. L. Hurst is a wonderful Dermatologist. I just came back from lazer treatment. He listens, educates his patients, tells you exactly what's happening during your treatment. He's a kind, caring, man and his office staff are excellent and very professional. 5 stars.

Dr Hurst is quick, efficient and caring. He will call you at home for follow up if there is a concern. He takes phone calls. I have a rare disease so there are No handouts available. Maybe he could get students to create handouts. There are No local supports available. He referred me to the Mayo Clinic website but it only explains in general terms. I would have liked more detail as I have a healthcare background. He explained the medication treatment and protocol to follow. He also explained what I could expect in terms of what to expect in the future.

Once I was referred by my GP, my appointment was scheduled within a few weeks! Both Dr. Hurst and his assistant were on-time, efficient and both my initial appointment and the surgical appointment were done right in his offices, the test results were given to me within a week and I was told what to do and watch for in future. His office is in a very central easy to get to location and parking is free!

Dr. Hurst is a rude and arrogant physician. He did not address my issues to my satisfaction and made me feel like I had wasted his time. I had a referral from my doctor. Never again will I set foot in his office!
