Dr. Kara Jansen Bio

Dr. Kara Jansen was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. She graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2002, and went on to complete her Family Medicine residency in Ottawa. She moved to Vancouver in 2004, and has been practising Family Medicine since then. In 2009, Dr. Jansen studied Breastfeeding Medicine at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia. She qualified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2010, and currently works two days a week at the St Paul’s Hospital Breastfeeding Center. She is a UBC Clinical instructor, and enjoys teaching residents and medical students. She fills her spare time with reading, outdoor activities, and playing with her three growing children.

    Dr Jansen has been my family doctor for close to 6 years and I have been very happy the whole time I have been seeing her. She is caring smart and takes the time to explain all my issues.
