He was born in Florida where he attended the University of Florida for both undergraduate and Medical School. His training in General Surgery was completed at New York Medical College Westchester County Medical Center, Valhalla, New York. Plastic Surgery training was done at the University of California San Diego where he specialized in Cosmetic Surgery, Breast Surgery and Body Contouring. After completing his training in plastic surgery he was honored to perfect his skills in Body Contouring and Liposuction by working with the fathers and promoters of the Liposuction industry in America, Drs. Illouz, Fornier, Hetter, Toledo and Lewis. Breast Reconstruction and body contouring became his focus during his years of practice in San Diego, California. Dr. Bivens has been certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1991. Dr. Bivens has made several appearances on Bravo TV's hit show The Real Housewives of Orange County. Dr. Bivens' areas of interests include many types of cosmetic surgery including abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), breast augmentations, breast implants, breast lifts, liposculpture, and Fat Transfer techniques (Brazilian Butt Lifts).
