Dr. Jenny Elliott Bio

While Dr. Jenny Elliott has skillfully followed in her father’s footsteps, she has established her own reputation as an award-winning chiropractor, traditional Chinese medicine acupuncturist and Clinic Director of Central Health Care team. She won the first annual Guelph Tribune Readers’ Choice Award for favourite chiropractor and has won that same award many times since. Most recently, Dr. Elliott was chosen to receive the prestigious Ontario Chiropractic Association Patient Care Award chosen from 4000+ Ontario chiropractors. This award honours the exceptional contributions of an individual that has demonstrated leadership in all aspects of patient care, from treatment to service and beyond. Growing up in Guelph, Dr. Elliott graduated high school as an Ontario Scholar. She received her first Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario. Then she combined her desire to travel with her pursuit of a career as a chiropractor. She chose to attend the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in England, one of the most respected chiropractic colleges in the world. There she completed her second Bachelor of Science degree, as well as a Master’s degree. While studying in England, Dr. Elliott had the good fortune to do her internship at the largest clinic in Europe. This allowed her to work with and learn from world renowned experts in rehabilitation, neurology, sports injury, pregnancy and pediatrics. Furthering her understanding of sports injuries, she treated players with the Bournemouth AFC Football (soccer) Club and the Bournemouth Rugby Club. An avid athlete herself, she is aware of how good advice and treatment can make a big difference in each individual’s level of performance. Dr. Elliott received her acupuncture training from the McMaster University Health Sciences Continuing Education Medical Acupuncture program where she is now an instructor & examiner. She is one of a small handful of professionals practicing cosmetic acupuncture. Her concern for the well-being of her patients is evident in that she ensures each patient receives appropriate treatment, guidance and education pertaining to their condition. It's great that you're considering chiropractic care for various conditions. Chiropractors can indeed provide treatments to address neuromusculoskeletal issues, including those related to scoliosis, hip and pelvis pain, and shoulder arthritis. However, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, such as a local chiropractor, to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific situation.

For scoliosis, chiropractic care may involve spinal adjustments and exercises aimed at improving posture and reducing spinal curvature. A chiropractor can assess the severity of scoliosis and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.

In the case of hip and pelvis pain, chiropractors can assess the underlying cause of the pain and provide treatments such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other modalities to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Regarding shoulder arthritis, chiropractors may offer non-surgical treatment options to help manage the condition. These options can include rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), chiropractic adjustments to improve range of motion, corticosteroid injections, and heat/cold therapy. However, the specific treatment plan would depend on the individual's condition and should be discussed with a chiropractor.

Remember, while chiropractic care can be beneficial for many individuals, it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional to ensure that the treatments are appropriate for your specific needs. Consulting with a local chiropractor would allow you to discuss your condition in detail and determine the best course of action.
