Bipolar disorders are a type of mood disorder. There are several subtypes of bipolar disorders. The most common ones are Bipolar 1 and 2 disorders. We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

Dr Lohrasbe has been my Dr for almost five years and she told me in our first meeting that she would b hard on me sometimes but, that she wanted me to feel I could use her as a sort of touchstone. She was very tough on me! There were times I wanted to quit but I would eventually discuss my concerns and she would tell me why she was doing what she was doing. I She is very careful at diagnosing and she takes the time to make sure your medications are perfect. (With me that took forever as I seem to be sensitive or allergic to every mood stabilizer out there). For years I was diagnosed with chronic depression and medications would suddenly stop working so my previous Drs would up the dosage until it seemed to work. Dr. Lohrasbe took the time to poke deeper and eventually diagnosed me with PTSD due to childhood trauma OCD, Anxiety and BiPolar II. She then set up a treatment plan that included dietary guidelines and bedtimes, CBT, group therapy, research and homework. She is tough but fair and excruciatingly diligent when it come to your mental wellness. The Dr who referred me to her said she had a terrible bedside manner but was a genius with the brain chemical side of things. That may be true, but, I would not have her any other way. She has indeed become my Touchstone.
