Bipolar disorders are a type of mood disorder. There are several subtypes of bipolar disorders. The most common ones are Bipolar 1 and 2 disorders. These affect approximately 5 percent of the population, which means that we have about 1.5 million people with this condition in Canada. Bipolar disorder is a serious psychiatric condition.

We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

I am very displeased with he care, or lack thereof, provided by Dr.Unoh. I waited 6 months to get an appt which she kept changing on me. When I finally did see her she prescribed me a month's worth of meds. Upon nearing the end of my pills she (not her directly as it is near impossible to even all o her receptionist! Phones are answered for ONE hour a day and even then I always get the answering machine) refused to refill and didn't book our next appt until TWO MONTHS later. I had no choice but to go of the meds! Less than a week before this follow-up appt I received a message that she changed the appt to a date and time I'm not available. This is ridiculous. I've switched to another doctor who actually cares about their patients.

I can understand the frustration with appointments running late, that does seem common. However I felt that Dr. Unoh and the secretary Deanna do a good job with setting that expectation by stating that the appointment can be delayed and how much time needs to be set aside for the appointment. When I had my first appointment with Dr. Unoh, she started with setting the expectation for the appointment as well by stating that the appointment is for diagnostic purposes and she is not an ongoing psychiatrist. Therefore she will ask specific questions and may need to interrupt at times to stay on track with getting the information she needs to evaluate. This is something I really appreciated and wasn’t offended by at all, it makes sense that she can’t listen to every patients full life story at every appointment, but just the information relevant to the evaluation. I found Dr. Unoh to be reasonable and kind, while also being straightforward. During the appointment (and ongoing programs I have been able to be a part of with her) she was open to areas of improvement with her own communication and seems trying to balance being straight forward with giving the information gently as well. Overall I feel that I am getting the help I need through medication and therapy because of this doctor who has been caring and attentive. I really like and appreciate Dr. Unoh!

Very dismissive and will ask you a question to cut you off. She's rude and doesn't care about her patients at all. Waiting over an hour for a virtual appointment and decided to find help elsewhere. Stay away from Dr.Unoh

    D. Unoh was very cold and didn't make eye contact during our virtual appointment. She was not very clear and at times was patronizing. I would not recommend

I was referred to Dr. Unoh by my university's mental health services for an ADHD assessment. Her nurse who did the intake call was very pleasant. Dr. Unoh herself was a stark reminder to me that there are numerous professionals in the mental health field who will never give a sh** about you. I was given my appointment time and told to log in early + that the appointment could be delayed. I was waiting, and waiting, and waiting with no communication from her other than that they were having "technical difficulties" and to "log back in later." She did not give me an ETA or ANYTHING and I had a very busy day ahead of me. I already had to wait months for this appointment so this was very frustrating. I was waiting much longer than I was told I'd be with no further communication from them, so I typed, "are you kidding me?" in the chat (this was after 2+ hours of waiting). I admit I was a little frustrated, but I had every right to be at this point. Of course, only after I send that does she decide to materialize and attend to her patient. She was actually so late that my online therapy appointment (that was scheduled like 3 hours after the evaluation lmao) had started, so when she finally did call me I had to ditch my scheduled therapy. She immediately called me disrespectful and rude and blamed me for getting upset + having other plans when she was massively late. She asked me if I still wanted to continue with the evaluation because I seemed to be "in a bad mood," and I said yes; I didn't appreciate her attitude but I had already waited so long for this. She rushed through the evaluation and did NOT look at the report cards I gave her as collateral information. She didn't even call my mom for an observer report about my childhood behaviour. She just put "no collateral information gathered at this time" on my report. She was also tutoring some sort of medical student during the evaluation which was very distracting. She took my report as a good opportunity to make me look bad, quoting what I said in chat and saying I was "initially angry, impatient, and unprepared (I didn't have my health card out yet because I was waiting so long for her, and this was enough for her to be upset at me...). I got the diagnosis but it honestly just felt like she was throwing a label at me so she could clock out and get paid. I told my psychiatrist at my university about my experience and she completely had my back which was very reassuring. Apparently they'd gotten lots of complaints about her, and mine was the nail in the coffin that made them officially stop referring students to her. All in all, she is the worst psychiatrist I have ever seen and I am not exaggerating. Believe the other reviews on here. If your team refers you to Dr. Unoh, get out while you can.

The appointment was about 20 mins. She ignored him for most of it and actually said, "I don't need all the details". My son died of a drug overdose 2 months after this women took the spark out of his eyes. He had hope until he met with her and she absolutely treated him like a number not a human that needed help. I saw the look on his face after she met with him and I will never forget it for the rest of my life. She had a large part in his death and probably doesn't even remember his name. STAY AWAY FROM HER!!! SHE HELPED KILL MY SON AND I HOPE IT HAUNTS HER AS MUCH AS IT DOES HIS MOTHER AND ME. SHAME ON YOU!!!

It would be helpful if Doctor E Unoh would listen more from her clients about their concerns and needs. Also showing up on time for her scheduled appointments would help.

Kaitlyn was great, very warm and reassuring. They said in the e-mail that the appointment with the Dr. could be delayed by up to 2 hours, and it was, and that’s fine cause they told me many times. But Unoh was horrible, I would give negative 5 stars if I could. I saw her for an anxiety disorder. She acted annoyed by my display of emotion, then told me I needed to take more responsibility for my recovery because I wasn’t able to communicate my feelings to her in that state (we had spoken for about 5 minutes at this point). I told her I felt attacked by that and she told me that this was my fault for perceiving it that way, and this is my fear of rejection showing. Throughout the appointment she would find ways to use my diagnosis against me saying things like “you can’t cry every time someone shows intelligence over you” and “you’re in university now, you can’t get upset when someone doesn’t give you what you want” (I have issues, but neither of these accurately describe them). I tried to focus on the solutions to our problem and she would take any opportunity to take a stab at me and try to prove her point. Very cold, arrogant and argumentative. After reading all these negative reviews, I’m shocked that she still thought it was appropriate to act the way she did. I would recommend that you ask your referring doctor for a different psychiatrist. Worst experience ever
