Elaine is a passionate chiropractor who grew up in Calgary, specifically in the Northwest community of Varsity. Her active lifestyle, involvement in various sports, and personal experience with chiropractic care have shaped her belief in the benefits of chiropractic in supporting a healthy and active lifestyle. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario, where she played volleyball for the UWO Mustangs, Elaine has a strong background in the field. Chiropractic is a family affair for Elaine, as she comes from a family with a chiropractic background. Her uncle is a chiropractor in Sherwood Park, AB, and her great-uncle recently retired as a chiropractor in Calgary, AB. Elaine is excited to continue the legacy and be the third member of her family to become a chiropractor. Elaine attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto, where she obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. During her time at CMCC, she actively participated in various activities, including being involved in CMCC's Students' Council and leading an exercise program for seniors. She received numerous awards and recognition for her academic standing, commitment to the school and community, and achievements in chiropractic. As a chiropractor, Elaine believes in a patient-centered approach and recognizes that health is a journey that encompasses emotional, physical, social, and spiritual aspects. She takes a detailed history and performs thorough physical examinations to understand each patient's unique needs and tailors her treatments accordingly. Elaine focuses on restoring mobility through manual adjustments or mobilizations of the spine and extremities, incorporating soft tissue therapy and rehabilitation as needed. She is also certified in Diversified Chiropractic Technique and Active Release Technique, and she utilizes additional techniques such as the Thompson Technique and the Activator Instrument to enhance patient care. Elaine's goal is to create a strong family practice that promotes vitality for patients of all ages. She understands the value of an interdisciplinary approach to healthcare and aims to empower her patients to achieve their wellness goals. Joining the team at Synergea, Elaine hopes to inspire her patients and provide the necessary care to support their journey to wellness. Outside of her professional life, Elaine remains physically active through weightlifting and fitness activities, and she finds emotional balance through yoga classes. She enjoys playing indoor volleyball in the winter and golfing in the summer. Elaine is also a dog lover and plans to adopt a dog after settling in Calgary. After living in Ontario for eight years, Elaine is excited to return to her hometown of Calgary and be part of the Synergea team, delivering exceptional natural and collaborative healthcare to the Calgary community.
