My friend saw Dr. Djamila Benmebarek and it was a complete waste of time. I listened on the phone for the entire appointment and was honestly appalled at her lack of professionalism and dismissive attitude. She wouldn't listen to anything my friend said, told them that there was no treatment for their condition, and did not make any prescriptions, referrals, or even give a blood test requisition for the test she said she needed in order to help. According to her the requisition needs to be made by a specific doctor whom she could not produce the contact details of or give any indication as to how to proceed- this information relayed to us by the front desk, because this doctor decided the appointment was over and left after less than 10 minutes. She should seriously reconsider her career choice if she cannot treat people with respect or make an effort to listen. After having my own appointment with a different doctor here and having a totally different experience this was extremely disappointing. When my friend explained that they were in extreme pain and would be unable to work, she could not do the bare minimum of prescribing the medicine she herself recommended (Naproxen), and simply said to take Tylenol and Ibuprofen together. Altogether I have a hard time believing that the day to day of being a doctor is more stressful, painful, and frustrating than being a patient of Dr. Djamila, especially being put in this position as someone with chronic, terrifying, and worsening pain, facing the prospect of being unable to work while already in a precarious financial position on top of having taken the day off of work and having spent money to get to and from this appointment which was for nothing. I truly hope she can learn to care about the people she is supposed to be treating. Truly disgusting and compassionless behavior and totally reflective of what the medical system has become. A completely unacceptable and totally incompetent standard of treatment.
