Your eyes have clear liquid that flows in and out, but if you have glaucoma, this liquid doesn’t drain properly, causing this buildup of IOP pressure. Glaucoma is a disease of the optic nerve, which is made up of nerve fibers and transmits images from the eye to your brain. If you have a condition known as ocular hypertension, which is a result of high ocular pressure, your risk of developing glaucoma increases.Your optometrist or ophthalmologist may want to lower your IOP as a preventative measure.

Our eye works a lot like a camera. In order for us to see clearly, the Cornea has light has to be focused by a lens. We are all born with a lens inside our eye that does this job for us and in early life it is crystal clear. As we age, this lens can become cloudy and begin to block light or create blur. We call this change in the lens a “cataract”.

Fortunately, cataracts are treatable through surgery. During cataract surgery, the clouded lens is removed and replaced with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). This procedure is highly successful in restoring clear vision for most people, allowing them to see more clearly and improve their quality of life.

Dr. Hammoudi was condescending. She didn't make a recommendation on how to proceed next. It seem she was rushed to get through reviewing my case. She didn't communicate well. I felt little confidence in her approach. It's a shame she is teaching students and residents. I hope they would have better role models for the level of care provided to patients.

I went to this opthalmologist Dena Hammoudi recently. I had not investigated her online as you would think when you go to an ophalmologist they would be professional and proper and easy to deal with. After my first visit I would never return to her simply because she was short and rude in her conversation. I had to ask her the same question 3 times and I couldn't get an answer from her regarding what I thought would be a simple question that she could answer. I guess if I want to take this further I would go to the College of Surgeons and Physicians but I just decided to go to another opthalmologist who has taken care of me and was a pleasure to deal with. I wouldn't recommend this opthalmologist.

I had a bletharoplasty a year ago and don't even have a scar now. Dr. Hammoudi was excellent. She showed me exactly what she was going to do prior to the surgery and what to expect immediately afterwards with detailed instructions for that 1st critical period post op. She explained the importance of closely following the instructions to avoid scarring. Now a year later and there are no scars just a great result. I highly recommend Dr. Hammoudi

West van person commented that she does unnecessary Test over and over again, waisting MediCare $, that was true, I got fully tested 2 weeks ago, yet, again they did similar test for 10 minutes and I had to wait for 1 hour and 15 minutes to hear result from Dr. wich took only 10 minutes. Not reccomended, find different Dr.

On July the 13th Dr. Hammoudi performed surgery on my eyelids. On July 25th I visited her office for a final assessment of my eyes. Dr. Hammoudi did an excellent job way better than I expected, she's very professional, answered every single question that I had before, during, and after the procedure, she a very kind person I was nervous when I went to the hospital, I let her know that and she provides me with a medication to calm me down, during the entire hour and fifteen minutes she talked to me about different subjects and assure me that everything was going on perfectly. Today 11 days after, I can see better than when I was 45 yrs old and I don't have any marks. I truly appreciated Dr. Hammoudi's gentleness, sweetness, and understanding. I definitely will recommend anybody in need to make an appointment and see her. Thanks a lot, Dr. Hammoudi. //Sigfrido G.

She is definitely not a person with decent interpersonal skills. More than anything, she does not provide appropriate explannation about the procedure and potential adverse events. In the middle of the encounter, she left the room. I think the medical education or traing failed her. I did not feel like I was talking to a doctor. She acted more like a technician. I wish someone like her are not be allowed to be working in the healthcare system in Canada. There must be someone more professional and caring than she is.

Would not recommend Dr. Hammoudi. She was quite rude, even when I asked a question about my procedure. Not surprising that her receptionist was also rude.

Although the wait in her office could be long, that didn't bother me as they warned me when they called to come prepared in case there is a wait. She spends as much time with her patients as needed and I never once felt rushed despite the many questions I had leading up to my operation. Highly recommend her

I was referred to her by my GP. But her front desk nurse booking me on the phone was not at all helpful. In too many ways. Gave her the benefit of the doubt the first time. But after three experiences on the phone, I pulled back and said I would ask my doctor to refer me to someone else.
