Dr. Carey Avery Bio

Dr. Avery received his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University he then went on to get his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from New York Chiropractic College. Professionally he has worked both in the United States and Canada and has been practicing in York Region since 2003. St. Andrew’s Chiropractic & Wellness opened in 2005; it is a family practice with a large focus on sports injuries. Dr. Avery’s sports injury experience is equally valuable when treating gardeners, weekend warriors and dog -walkers as it is when treating runners, hockey players and golfers. Dr. Avery has served as the team Chiropractor and Sports Injury Consultant to both the Aurora Ducks and the Aurora Master Ducks swim teams. Over his years in practice Dr. Avery has also worked with several professional, semi-pro, and amateur athletes and teams. A competitive swimmer since the age of 6, Dr. Avery was a member of McMaster’s OUAA champion swim team in 1994. Dr. Avery swam with the Aurora Master Ducks Swim Team for nearly a decade and was a member of their 2005 National Championship Team. He also routinely conducts injury prevention workshops with athletic teams such as his annual “Shoulder Injury Clinic” with the local swim teams. Dr. Avery resides in Aurora with his wife and 2 daughters.
