Dr. Akram graduated from the prestigious King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. He then went on to complete his Internal Medicine Residency and was Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at State University of New York - Upstate Medical University. He then completed his training in Cardiovascular Disease from Geisinger Medical Center, Geisinger Health Systems in Pennsylvania with additional emphasis on Multi Modality Cardiac Imaging. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography and Internal Medicine. Dr Akram is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northern Ontario School of Medicine. Dr Akram is fluent in English, Urdu/Hindi and Punjabi.
